Learn to Fly Fish

White Clay Fly Fishers is excited to be offering our annual Learn to Fly Fish sessions. Over the five week course you will learn the basic equipment, casting skills, knot tying, a session on the bugs with flies that mimic them as well as sessions on reading the water with the final class actually fishing the White Clay Creek.

Fee for the Fly Fishing Classes are:  Adults $30, Youth 16 and under $10, family $45 – includes 1 year
membership to White Clay Fly Fishers.

Weekly Topics:

Week 1: Tuesday, March 5, 2024: Fly-fishing equipment and assembly, dynamics of fly casting, casting with a practice rod.

Week 2: Tuesday, March 12, 2024: Seminar on what bugs fish eat and the flies that mimic them along with an overview of fly fishing gear.

Tuesday, March 19, 2024: No class but join us for the WCFF Club monthly meeting at the London Tract Meeting
House (400 Sharpless Rd. Landenberg, PA)

Week 3: Wednesday, March 27, 2024: Knot tying, casting presentation, casting instruction and practice exercises.

Week 4: Wednesday, April 3, 2024: Review knots, casting instruction and exercises. Reading the water to locate fish and how to cast to the fish.

Week 5: Tuesday, April 9, 2024: Fishing on the stream. Need Pennsylvania and/or Delaware fishing license with a trout stamp!
